Unlike some other sugical specialists, neurosurgeons work in extremely small spaces of the body's interior, enabling the healing of very delicate nerves or areas of the brain or spine. To do so, we use various specialized instruments like the surgical microscope and the laser.
State-of-the-art image guided technology has recently been added to our Operating Room. Stereotactic radiosurgery and endovascular procedures, both non-invasive, are also available.
If surgery is a necessary step in our treatment, we will explain the details of any surgical procedure, and help you understand what you can expect immediately afterwards as well as during the subsequent recovery period.
We may also provide you with a video and/or pamphlet on the surgical procedure you will undergo.
